A bit of a self-indulgence this – Many will know already about the amazing work of Josh Keyes, but for those that don’t, He is a Californian Hyper-realist painter who focuses heavily on the juxtaposition of nature and technology by pushing wildlife into often derelict urban landscapes and vice-versa.
Maybe the romantic thought of animals taking back their landscape or a more cynical view of modern life stealing those habitats in the first place is the driving force. Either way the subject matter is portrayed exquisitely (and often clinically) making for a graphic edge to this work. Stunning stuff, worth repeat visits (I definitely have since being introduced a while back, thanks p).
Read a great interview with him here too.
