Mad Skills Monday 046: Katie Abey

Welcome to Mad Skills Monday, where we showcase top work from young creatives to bring some inspiration to beat the post-weekend blues. Today we have the joyous crafts and drawings of Katie Abey.

Power tool: Fineliners and Photoshop
Power song: Frank Turner – Love, Ire and Song
Power snack: Boiled egg and soldiers

Katie Abey specialises in cartoon-style hand-drawn characters and typography, all expertly planned but still vibrant and eccentric. Since her recent graduation Katie has been making the most of her freelancing career, selling cards, badges and beanies online and creating Youtopias – customised utopian landscapes where you can be surrounded with any lovely things you like. In January she challenged herself to do one drawing a day, every day for 2014 and has since kept this resolution, sharing her progress on her Facebook page. A great project to follow for a daily dose of happiness!
