Mad Skills Monday 067: Abbie Parry

Welcome to Mad Skills Monday, where we showcase top work from young creatives to bring some inspiration to beat the post-weekend blues. This week we have the whimsical and beautiful illustrations of Abbie Parry.

Power Tools: A drill, because they’re the least scary!

Power Song: Marina and the Diamond’s Froot

Power Snack: Dried mango.

Abbie Parry is a illustrator, picture book maker, adventure and tea drinker. After spending three years at the Arts University Bournemouth making pictures and constructing dens, she based herself at the bottom of a very big mountain in Wales where she can be found scribbling away or with her watercolours. She is inspired by the things toys get up to when we’re not around, the little things that happen and the funny things that kids say and do.

Coming up with worlds using pencil and watercolour, Abbie puts together picture books to make “big and little people smile”. The result is friendly and inventive, with great characters and beautiful visuals.
