Music Video Maker

On December 8th ShellsuitZombie will present an evening of inspiration from some of the worlds finest music video makers, including WIZ, Luis Cerveró, Tom Haines and more

It takes a lot of skill to tell a story in 3-4 minutes, often with no audible dialogue. This event, the first edition of our new Odd Jobs feature, will celebrate and explore the craft behind the production of critically acclaimed music videos and look at how young directors, editors and producers can break into the industry. Expect incredible videos, candid stories, animated discussion and drinks aplenty.

8th December at Whirled Cinema
259 Hardess Street, London SE24 0HN
Tickets: available on Eventbrite
UPDATE 05/12: Earlybird tickets are sold out

Who’s in?

We are super-excited to announce that the event will feature the legendary WIZ, who has worked with Chemical Brothers, Disclosure, Dizzee Rascal, Oasis and Marilyn Manson, the list goes on and on. He will be joined by Luis Cerveró, one part of CANADA, who’s Justice – New Lands video (below) is one of my favourites, ever. Natalia Stuyk has made beautifully trippy animations for Basement Jaxx and Crystal Fighters. Tom Haines is behind Jon Hopkins’ award-winning yet unsettling Collider. And Ben Reed isn’t afraid of making a melon-puppet sing in his stunningly surreal videos. And Thomas Grove Carter of Trim is an editor who’s worked with Arcade Fire , James Blake and Little Comets, so he’ll be bringing a slightly different perspective to the proceedings.

I would love to stick all of their fascinating creations in this post, but in the interest of space, I will let you explore at your leisure.

Sounds incredible, how do I get involved?

The event will be held at Whirled Cinema, a unique cinema space in South London. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

We are organising the event in collaboration with legendary music video commissioner John Moule, who has been behind the scenes of many seminal videos over the years. He is starting up a new Music Video Creators masters course to help nurture talent in the industry. If you are interested in finding out more, definitely come down and talk to him over a beer – he’s a great guy and very keen to meet gifted young creatives.

If you can’t make the event, but you’re interested in the course, email us at team (at) and we’ll put you in touch.
