Day 17: AJ Baker – The Bakery
Recent graduate from Chelsea’s Art & Design course, Andrew Baker‘s colourful shape based style won us over straight away. AJ fuses vibrant block colour and popular culture, with much of his work being portraits of A-list celebrities in their iconic dress.
Day 18: Mint Digital – The Foundry
Digital innovators Mint Digital ran a workshop day where 8 carefully selected graduates competed in two teams to develop a new idea for a product that would ‘make you smile’. Provided with a £50 budget for materials, Mint challenged the two teams to produce a working prototype before dusk, then present it to a panel of judges.
Day 19: Collective London – Collective Upstarts
On Wednesday 27th June, Digital agency Collective London filled the box with big tunes and green grass, inviting scores of creative grads to interview for a placement at the agency. With big bowls of sweets and a bit of sun, the conversation was flowing with up to four interview panels happening simultaneously in that quest for the perfect fit.
Day 20: Kigu – Partaay
Kigu had a fair bit to live up to after the preceding Thursday nights held in the 55DSL store. They sure as heck managed with Foamo on the decks and free Oranjeboom from 6pm, Kigu lovers congregated in their hundreds to rave it up onesie-style.
Day 21: D&AD Grad Academy
D&AD exists to inform, support and inspire the creative industry and alongside hosting the Oscars of the creative world, the D&AD awards, they support a bevy of young talent in their educational work. A few of D&AD’s rising stars, their carefully selected ‘graduate academy‘, came to the box to run a photo shoot and be creative for a day.
